Magical, beautiful, godly, and unforgettable. I spent two nights at the Big Bend National Park camp ground. My family stayed in a tent. It was low 60s at night but reached well over 100 during the day. Each morning, we were visited by a little singing bird we named, Sam. On the first day, we were greeted by an afternoon shower. It cooled the air down and made the evening pleasant. Make sure to bring a sun shade for your tent. If you have a solar generator, it will make your trip much easier. You will find wonderful camp mates. They were so considerate and generous. The camp hosts kept the common areas clean. At the camp store, you can even find ice cream. I am not sure if they finished working on the shower facility. Now, you will be surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural monuments. But it will get extremely hot, so make sure you plan and plan. There are many trails even for beginners. Start early in the morning 🌄. The best part was the night sky. My kids didn't know how beautiful the night sky looked like.

Pictures can not due justice to the beauty of Zion National Park. I have not felt this level of wonder, awe & peace in many years. The majestic views, the wildlife, and the manicured trails are a sight to behold. This is by far the most beautiful place I have ever experienced, and I can't wait to return.

This park is amazing and vastly underrated. We had such a good experience coming this summer. While hiking the window hike, we met the parks amazing volunteers. George was on the trail, offering water and snacks to ensure that hikers were fully capable of finishing the trail during the peak heat of the day. We were so impressed with the service we received by team of volunteers.

Top 5 parks, remote, hard to get to, big and expansive. This is a must see, and spend at least a week exploring. Appreciate the Texas culture and Mexican culture present here, as well as individuals from various backgrounds.The hiking trails are unbelievable, Emory peak is a must hike if you can make the trek - start early, it's worth the view!Lodge is out dated but fine.

Very beautiful BUT it is dangerously hot in the summer. BE CAREFUL! The staff is very friendly and nice so I had a very nice scenic drive. We drive Panther Junction to Persimmon Pass. It IS a dark skies fertilize park which is awesome at night. The towns nearby are remote but the park does have a gas station which is great.

Went with my family during Thanksgiving break. Only stayed for one day, should have stayed for more days as the park is huge!! So many different trails, difficult level varied. And it is really close to Mexico as well so you can walk down trail and see the river run across the US and Mexico. Highly recommend if you love to see nature beauty as well as walking trails.

This is a beautiful park. Miles upon mile of mountain landscapes, mountain wilderness, desert landscapes, wildlife, and foliage. Several echo systems, and micro climates, the expanse of this park includes an old ghost town, hot springs, world glass bird watching, and abundant wildlife, mountain lions, bobcats, black bears, and many many others. Bring your binoculars, lots of water... take only picture, and leave only foot prints.

What a fantastic national park. It is so massive and beautiful. It’s very remote so it is a dark sky park for one.Let’s start with the trails. They are as expansive as you could want. There are double digit trails as well as the scenic 1 milers.The views are expansive as you can imagine. They are as if you are not in Texas any longer. The canyons are truly a sight.The border to Mexico is really what sets it apart. What other park do you need a passport to cross a river into another country??

My husband and I just went here and enjoyed a day full of hiking and took in the views from all around us. The park was clean and kept, and the staff was very nice. With COVID protocol in place, some things were not open, but it didn’t take away from our trip. I highly recommend Big Bend to any adventure seeker, hiker and nature lover. Definitely check out The Lost Mine Trail and the Santa Elena Canyon Trail.

Almost feels like you've left earth! So beautiful. Definitely felt a connection with nature. Lots to see and enjoy. The best part was seeing a clear view of the stars in the evening and watching the sunrise between the mountains in the morning. Breathtaking 🥰.

Beautiful,place must make reservations six months in advance. There is no first come first served. Yes, you can visit the park but all activities such as camping, rentals best made six months in advance. Wear hiking shoes being a walking stick. Forget your phone no service. Pack water and protein snacks. Don't forget yr sunscreen.

Amazing views. Very limited cell service. There are lots of nice little places to stop and relax or take pictures during the day. Nighttime, so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face. Great for star gazing.

Great trail to Emory Peak! Real rock climbing to the top, very hard and dangerous. Nice canyon between US and Mexico! Visited in Nov 2023.

Big Bend National Park is a little slice of heaven on earth. With breathtaking scenery and ample space to spread out you can get you share of fresh air and inspiring eye candy. For those history enthusiasts, there are also remains of homesteads and communities from yesteryear!

Unforgettable Big Bend AdventureDespite the scorching July heat, our stay at Big Bend was a hidden gem. With the park nearly to ourselves, early morning hikes were a refreshing delight. The hot springs and the mesmerizing Window Trail stood out, showcasing the park's natural beauty. A month here wouldn't be enough to explore all it offers. Eagerly anticipating an annual return, making this outdoor haven a vacation tradition.

Big Bend is a hidden gem. The drive to the park is spectacular, and the mountains and hiking trails are very scenic. Most of the hikes are fairly straightforward and not too challenging. My girlfriend and I did the "Lost Mines trail" which is about 4.8 miles total, and we really enjoyed it! There's a lot to explore at Big Bend, and I recommend staying for 2-3 days in order to have time to see most of what this park has to offer.

Beautiful park! Certainly an effort to get to and plan for. Highly recommend trying to stay in the park, otherwise you're in for some long drives. Makes you realize how big Texas for how different this area is.Did the window and Santa Elena hikes, both wonderful hikes. The gas station in the park brought peace of mind as some as well

This place is breathtaking. The Santa Elena canyon hike is a must, as well as the Lost Mine hike. We saw lots of wildlife, and during spring the park was blooming.FYIPets are not allowed on the trails.

Big Bend National Park is an absolute gem. I climbed the Lost Mine Peak and found it to offer some of the most stunning views in the park. The trail is only about 2.4 miles long and not too challenging, making it accessible for many visitors. The park's diverse landscapes are spectacular, though I advise against visiting during the summer due to the intense heat. For the best experience, arrive early in the morning to maximize your time exploring the various trails. A well-deserved 5 stars—highly recommend!

Amazing park! So much space and great campsites. We went with an EV and booked an RV campsite for hookup no problem. The only thing is the RV campsite was a little further from the center of the park, and much colder than the central campsites. Still, it was gorgeous even in December! Incredible stargazing too. Hot springs are a must-do too! Different vibes in the evening vs morning.

Enjoyed our day thoroughly! From the hot springs to the Santa Elena overlook and all the magnificent views I'm between, we had a wonderful time exploring our backyard in Texas! Visiting from San Antonio and would definitely be back again in March. The weather for hiking, swimming, and star gazing was perfect! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect getaway!

Big Bend is a large and very remote national park. It’s surprisingly scenic, especially while in the crown jewel of the park, the Chisos Mountains. You can drive right up to the Chisos Basin to get lots of beautiful views of these volcanically created mountains. There’s also a scenic drive through the desert as well as countless miles of unpaved roads to explore once you’re done with that. Big Bend also has a port of entry for travelers with a passport who would like to take a trip over to the small town of Boquillas Del Carmen, Mexico. I spent 5 days in the area and immensely enjoyed it (except for the heat). I highly recommend this park.The Lost Mine is a challenging day trip trail with breathtaking views that I recommend. (Bring plenty of water)

I love this place!! It was amazing to visit, it’s mind blowing to learn that this place was once looking like Bali,Indonesia.. bones and fossils…. I have come across a few cool animals, deers, snakes, fox, rabbits, hogs, large centipede and a few others.. keep in mind this park is not dog friendly, and it can be hot so plan well!!

While in town for work and the eclipse, I got an opportunity to come check out the park.I was coming to check off the list but was blown away by how amazing this park is.The park boasts a 225+ mile stretch of the Rio Grande River.All facilities were maintained well, staff was great.One thing the park really impressed upon me is how porous our border with Mexico really is.This park is amazing. Notable stops: mule ears, Elena canyon and Boquillas crossing

It's just beautiful!! Awesome landscapes...Lot to explore, scenic roads, adventurous trails, and semi-arid region. Perfect for winter road trip. Well developed campsites, highly recommend to camp here. Very beautiful in the night - sky full of stars on a clear night.

Definitely worth the trip out from wherever you live. This is a great park with a lot of variety in hiking scenery and difficulty. Santa Elena Canyon is an awesome place with an easy hike at the end and a beautiful drive leading up to the canyon. Oak Springs and/or Cattail Falls is a little bit harder, but still awesome. The South Rim is amazing, definitely worth the mileage. The Window is a little bit disappointing, the views of it from the Oak Springs Trail were better than the views from it. Being able to see the Milky Way is great, definitely worth staying up a little bit late or getting up a little bit early for. Amazing place.

Beautiful park with unique landscape, even during the height of spring break it still felt secluded and relaxed. Be aware that parking at the trailheads can be difficult at peak times, but worth being patient.

The desert is magical. It’s not like mountains or forests. I walk in the desert and I can see where the sky and land meet. It makes me feel that I am alone on this planet. Yet I show some mountain pictures here.

First time visited Big Bend National Park, and I’m totally fascinated! We went for a family hiking adventure, only 2 days was not enough. We stayed at the chisos basin lodge, totally recommend to stay inside the park and enjoy the convenience of the grocery store and the restaurant, room with AC for hot summer, and close distance to trails. There are several trails, but we just hiked the windows trail, the lost mine and the Santa Elena canyon. Visited the terlingua ghost town. We totally recommend to visit this beautiful park with scenic views and breathtaking sunsets. It is far and kind of isolated, but is totally worth the visit, it is majestic!

One of the best places I have ever been in USA !We had good time there with friends !! I will definitely recommend this place to everyone who is interested in camping hiking!! We have covered couple of places in 2 days all of them are pretty cool!!

YOU will not find a better park in Texas and the BEST park period for astro/landscape photography. I'm just glad it so far away that most don't want to visit! Makes it less crowded!

What an amazing park. Just about 7 hrs from Austin and drive is scenic too. It’s a combination of mountains, deserts and rivers. So much history and lots of hikes. We went for 3 days did some main spots like Santa Elena canyon, fossil exhibit , chisos mountains. If time permits must do lost mine trail. Though in April it started getting hot from afternoon so advice to carry lots of water and possibly a cooler or igloo, park does require lot of driving but all drives are scenic . Stargazing was just spot on and we also attended ranger led telescope stargazing event and got to see Jupiter and 4 moons , as well as craters of Moon!! I would definitely come back to tackle more difficult hikes. Also if you carry your own food then it saves time. Hot springs was amazing too though the road is dirt road and have to be extremely careful when driving.
